U.S. Supreme Court Blocks Redistricting Maps
The redistricting maps in question do not affect my race which is for the 425th District Court covering all of Williamson County. The issue before the Court does however affect U.S Congressional and State Legislative races. Locally, that's Congressmen John Carter and Michael McCaul and State Representatives Larry Gonzales and the candidates for the open House seats in Northern and Western Williamson County.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott was quoted in the article saying, "The Texas Attorney General's Office is committed to protecting the integrity of Texas' elections by ensuring they are conducted based on legally constructed redistricting maps, and the Supreme Court's decision today is an important step in that direction."

Betsy Files for District Judge
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For Information Contact:
November 28th, 2011 Bill Gravell, Campaign Manager (512) 630-1911
Betsy Lambeth Files as a Republican Candidate for the 425th State District Judge Race
“I am excited to announce that I have filed for judge of the 425th District Court. This Court serves all of Williamson County and is charged with the responsibility of hearing exclusively family law matters. I am the candidate with the experience, compassion and insight needed for this Court. I have lived in, worked for, and volunteered with families of Williamson County, a place where we all call home, for over 22 years”.
For 22 years I have practiced family law, helping our friends and neighbors navigate the complex and emotional paths of divorce, child custody, guardianship, and other difficult and life-altering events that arise from family situations.
For 22 years I have sat with mothers and fathers as they struggle with divorce, parting with loved ones, and sometimes watching from a distance as their babies grow up.
For 22 years I have helped clients figure out how to run two households on a budget designed to support one home.
For 22 years I have helped clients figure out how to divide their pensions, their property and most importantly how to raise their children together, in the best environment possible, while living apart.
For 22 years I’ve been fortunate enough to witness the joy in a child’s eyes when they are adopted by their “forever family.” I have shared in a mother’s anguish as she decided to let go of her child and give it up for adoption, knowing in her heart that it’s the most loving thing she can do.
“My 22 years of family law experience has taught me how the law must handle these delicate, yet necessary matters to efficiently render justice”.
“Over the years, I have been appointed to handle high conflict divorces to make intelligent, well-reasoned recommendations regarding child custody. Our Williamson County judges entrusted me to take on these cases and get it right for our neighbors. They relied on me to act as their advisor, evidencing faith that I possess the knowledge, skills and abilities that steadily leads to unbiased and just results”.
“We all must stand together, and only together, can we give Williamson County families the justice they deserve”.

George Washington's Thanksgiving Day Proclamation
Happy Thanksgiving! Below is President George Washington's beautiful Thanksgiving Day proclamation in 1789. It reminded me of why we celebrate this national holiday.

Seton in the Heart of Texas
Attended Seton Women’s Development Board’s western gala benefiting the building and equipment needs at Seton Medical Center Williamson, a member of the Seton Healthcare Family. The gala was a wonderful event with a terrific crowd, a beautifully decorated Schwertner Ranch Event Center staffed with real cowboys, incredible food and a large fundraising success for the hospital. We are fortunate to have such a fine organization in our community. Seton believes they fulfill a calling to be a sign of God’s unconditional love for all and believes that all persons by their creation are endowed with dignity.

Campaign signs stolen
I received word this morning that at least 14 of my campaign signs were stolen, estimated loss $642. I was also told there were other candidate signs, including my opponent’s that were also stolen. The signs were removed from locations on the North and West sides of Georgetown. I, along with County Commissioner Valerie Covey, filed a theft report with the Williamson County Sherriff's Department and the Georgetown Police Department. The signs were spotted in a vehicle described as a 2005 red GMC or Chevy 4 dr, dual rear-wheeled, pick-up. There were two suspects described in their mid 50's, one anglo or hispanic male approximately 5'9", 200 lbs and one anglo female approximately 5'4", 170 lbs. Please contact the Sherriff's Department if you have any information concerning this theft. Please contact the police if you notice anyone taking signs down. Signs are going UP this time of year, not down. Please also contact me if you notice any of my signs down. Thank you very much for your help.
