Attorney for 27 years
Judge Lambeth was in private practice for 27 years and has extensive courtroom experience in the areas of family law, juvenile law, and general civil law. Her practice covered a wide range of issues, from business litigation and property disputes to divorces and adoptions.
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Lambeth was recognized in Williamson County as an experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate attorney. As their attorney, she walked alongside the families of Williamson County as they navigated the difficult waters of divorce, custody, child welfare and juvenile law.
Judge Lambeth has seen the impact courtroom decisions have on parties -- especially children and families. She has sat across the table from fathers, mothers and children, listening to their stories and helping them determine the course of their new family life.
More about Betsy
When people come to court, it is often because there is a dispute that needs to be resolved by the justice system. Whether being sued or working through a divorce, these are not usually happy days in a person's life. Adoptions are different!
Judge Lambeth has presided over a wide variety of cases in her 10+ years on the bench. It is her greatest joy to preside over cases where families are made. Some of these are adoptions in remarriages where families blend and some are adoptions of children who were in the foster care system. These are the happiest of days in the 425th.
What people say about being in Judge Lambeth's courtroom...
"Honorable Betsy Lambeth,
I want to thank you for all your hard work and considerations for the child. Due to your wise decisions, this child will be permanently placed after six years of waiting for this moment. You gave this child, hope and certainty for a happy future. After your meeting with her, she was smiling and feeling confident. [She] knew, going home was a reality. You made a difference in [her] life. For this CASA, is always an honor to be in your courtroom.
Your Honor, I hope all the good you do comes back to you."

"Dear Judge Lambeth,
As the proud grandparents of [names withheld], we want to thank you and your staff for making the adoption of these beautiful children so very special. The court proceeding and the time spent afterwards, where the children were able to put their hand and footprints on the adoption board and picking out a toy, made the day even more memorable.
When [the kids] are older, we look forward to telling them about their special day."
